How we work
Five steps, no surprises.
Every project runs the same way. You know up front who does what, how long it takes and when you'll hear from us.
Projects rarely overrun because designing takes long. They overrun because nobody agreed who decides and when the copy will be ready. So that's set out below, step by step.
- 01 Write
Takes: One working day
You send an email
Two sentences will do. You get a direction back, a price indication, and an honest no if it isn't a fit.
- You bring
- A short description of your business and what's going wrong now
- We deliver
- A reply with direction and an indicative price
- 02 Talk
Takes: 30 minutes
We spend half an hour on a call
Free, and no obligation. We ask until we understand what you sell and to whom. After that we both know where we stand.
- You bring
- Access to someone who can make decisions
- We deliver
- A fixed quote with scope, price, and schedule
- 03 Design
Takes: 1 to 2 weeks
Structure, then design
Structure first, then design. Our SEO specialist joins during the structure phase, because that is where your visibility is decided.
- You bring
- Copy, imagery, and one round of feedback
- We deliver
- Site structure and a full design of every page
- 04 Build
Takes: 1 to 3 weeks
Build, test, measure
We build exactly what was drawn. Speed, behaviour on mobile and accessibility all get tested before you see it.
- You bring
- A final content check
- We deliver
- The built site, technical SEO, analytics
- 05 Ship
Takes: One day, plus handover
Live, and after
Live, and everything handed over: domain, hosting and access. Care stays optional, because the site is yours either way.
- You bring
- A decision about ongoing care
- We deliver
- Launch, handover, and documentation
The most expensive week in any project is the one where nobody knows whose turn it is.
Principles
Four things we don't bend on.
The price is fixed before we start
A fixed amount on a defined scope. If the scope grows we discuss it first. No invoice ever arrives that you didn't plan for.
You own everything
Domain, code, design files and accounts all sit in your name. If you move on, everything moves with you.
Feedback in rounds, not in drips
Gathering feedback in one pass works well. Scattered messages over three weeks don't.
We say so when something is a bad idea
Even when you asked for it yourself. You're hiring us for our judgement.
